Where is Cowlico?

You may have noticed that Cowlico, our beloved Art Cow, is missing from her hill on the front lawn of Roberts. Rest assured ... she is fine. She has been removed for some loving renovation and repair after spending 7 years in the Houston weather extremes. After that, YOU will have the opportunity to be a part of her new decoration!

Mrs. Herrick will be re-drawing the outlines of the artwork. Members of the Roberts community will be able to purchase a section of the blanket to paint as a fundraiser for the Auction. The painting parties will be held later this spring and Cowlico will return to her hill during the summer. We anticipate having 100 squares, approximately 5x5 inches, for sale during the silent auction as well as "special" body parts to be offered during the silent and live auctions.

School Portraits Give Money Back to Roberts

One of our Roberts Parent-owned businesses, Danny Clark Photography, will be hosting a School Portrait Fundraising event on Saturday, February 13th and Monday, February 15th (no school on that day) at their studio located at 2427 Bartlett. Roberts will receive $25 from each session with our students.

Roberts Help for Haiti Earthquake Victims

Roberts students are once again answering the call for help – this time for Haiti earthquake victims.

This Friday, January 29th, is our day of service. There will be:

 SIA Bake Sale at the Playground covered area
 Buy a bottle of water to go with your Bake Sale goodie(s).
 For a donation, dazzle friends and family with your karaoke singing skills at
the Outdoor Stage, under the direction of Ms. Brister.
 Join Ms. St Amand’s class in their mile “Walk for Haiti” around the Roberts track – all it takes is a donation of $1.00
 Raffle for students to win a chance to “silly string” or throw a whipped cream “pie” at teachers!

So far the following teachers have volunteered: Ms. Graves, Mr. Hunger, Ms. Huynh, Ms. Montague, Ms.
May, Ms. Nandlal, Ms. Punch, and Ms. St Amand.

Please stop by and buy your afternoon snack, take a walk, sing a song, and
support our students and this worthy cause.

More Paper Bags Needed for Recycling

The recycling committee is in need of more paper grocery or shopping bags to be used in the classroom recyling bins. Bags can be brought to the lost and found closet by the cafe (they are stored on the middle shelf) or can be given to teachers at drop off. Many thanks for your help in making Roberts GREEN!
